Cap Timm inducted into College Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame

Editor’s Note: The following article appeared in the Cyclone Sports News of Iowa State University 50 years ago this month. L. C. (Cap) Timm was a native of Arlington where he was an athletic star in his youth.
Iowa State Baseball Coach L.C. (Cap) Timm has received the honor of being inducted into the American Association of College Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to baseball.
Cap, the dean of Big Eight baseball coaches, has been a leader in sports as a player, coach, and administrator on all levels of play. Timm, who has been at ISU for over 40 years, has been instrumental in building the College World Series to the height of prestige it holds today.
Cap was a baseball and football letterman at the University of Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from that school and later added a Master’s Degree from New York University.
