Minnesota has long been the turkey capital in the United States and some would argue in the world. In 1939, Minnesota’s turkey farmers gathered together to form the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association.
Since then, Minnesota has consistently ranked number one in the U.S. turkey production. Every year, Minnesota turkey farmers raise 40 to 42 million birds.
