The Sibley East graduation ceremony, due to COVID-19, will be held in the north parking at the high school in Arlington at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31. The graduation ceremony will follow the direction and guidance of the Minnesota Department of Education, according to Sibley East Middle/High School Principal Steve Harter.
Staging for the processional will take place at the football field parking lot. Cars should arrive by 1:10 p.m. Each car will be assigned a parking spot base on the alphabet.
The processional will begin at precisely 1:20 p.m. “Pomp and Circumstance” will be played during the processional. This can be heard on the radio at KGLB Radio 1310 AM and from the speaker system that will be located in the high school parking lot.
Cars will drive down Douglas Street at a pace of approximately five miles per hour. The parking lot attendants will set the distance between cars. From the time that the processional starts until the end of the ceremony car doors should remain shut. No one should leave the cars. This is in accordance with the guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education.
All cars will park in their pre-assigned locations. Parking lot attendants will be assisting parking positions.
