The Sibley East varsity football team opened its season with a 41-7 loss to visiting Jordan on Friday night, Oct. 9.
Jordan scored its first touchdown on an 11-yard pass at the end of the first quarter. The kick was no good as the Hubmen jumped out to a 6-0 lead with 28 seconds remaining in the opening quarter.
Jordan found the end zones four times in the second quarter and eventually took a 34-0 lead at halftime.
The Hubmen scored the touchdowns on a 9-yard run, a 48-yard pass, a 61-yard fumble return and finally a 16-yard pass as time expired in the first half.
After a scoreless third quarter, Jordan scored its final touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter.
Sibley East scored its lone touchdown on a 20-yard run by Caleb Dose with 5:33 remaining in the final quarter. The run capped a 67-yard drive. Junior Zach Pazdernik followed with the extra point kick.
