Richard H. Blake, age 76, of Le Sueur, passed away at the Ridgeview Health Care Center, Le Sueur, on Saturday, Nov. 23.
A memorial service will be held at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
Burial will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Lunch at the Arlington Haus in Arlington.
Richard was born to Arthur & Ella (Hormann) Blake in Arlington on June 22, 1943. He attended Arlington schools and started working at a very young age. He hauled milk for a creamery and worked construction with Blackie Schwartz in Arlington at a young age. Afterwards he did a lot of painting in the Arlington area before he started a long career with Del’s Construction in Le Sueur. He worked for over 30 years with Del’s Construction doing plumbing, concrete work and building. He enjoyed his time with family and especially the grandchildren. He also enjoyed an evening out playing bingo whenever he could.
He is survived by his best friend, Donna Vogel of Le Sueur; children; Barry (Jeanette) Blake of Gaylord, Sherry Blake of Scottsdale, Ariz., Brian (Carol) Blake of Cadillac, Mich.; Shawn (Debbie) Blake of Belle Plaine, Justin Blake of Belle Plaine, and Darcie (Travis) Brinson, stationed in Moorhead; 10 grandchildren, Makayla Ostermann-Blake, Colleen Baker, Vanessa Longstreet, Joshua Blake, Caitlin Jarman, Allison Blake, Ava Valliant, Avarie Valliant, Colton Brinson and Jessica Vogel; two great-grandchildren, Caden Longstreet and Benjamin Baker; and nephew, Jeff Blake.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, George, Bobby and Dorothy.
