• Arlington Police Officer Bailey Holasek took her turn in the dunk tank at the Arlington Night Out event at Four Seasons Park on Tuesday night, Aug, 6. In addition to the dunk tank, there was a free meal, music, root beer floats, splash pad and prizes. Approximately 400 people attended the event. The event was sponsored by the Arlington Police Department.
  • Denise Tourtellott, middle, was recognized as an Honorary Commodore by the Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization. The presentation occurred at the Sibley County Fair on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4.
  • Jason Gibson, 9, and Abbey Gibson, 8, played ring toss during the National Night Out event in Green Isle on Tuesday night, Aug. 6. Jason and Abbey are the children of Rob Gibson. In addition to games, there were free hot dogs, root beer floats and prizes. The event was sponsored by the Green Isle Lions Club, Green Isle Fire Department and Locher Brothers.

Deadline for vacancy on the Arlington Council is Aug. 20

The deadline to submit a letter of interest for the vacancy on the Arlington City Council is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The City Council is looking for an individual to fill the remaining term of City Council member Jim Heiland, through Dec. 31, 2022.

Interested people should submit a letter of interest on why they would like to serve on the City Council. The letter of interest should be accompanied by a resume and be mailed or dropped off to the City Administrator, 204 Shamrock Drive, Arlington, MN 55307.
