SE football team blanks Worthington 12-0

The visiting Sibley East varsity football team blanked Worthington 12-0 in action on Friday night, Sept. 13.
It was the first win for the Sibley East football program in the last 15 games.


“The guys played well and fought through some early adversity to come away with the win,” said Sibley East head coach Alan Halverson. “I’m proud of the way they played and the character they displayed during and after the game.”


Sibley East dodged a bullet moments into the game. The Wolverine offense fumbled the pigskin on the first play of the game, but the Sibley East defense held Worthington on downs.

Sibley East volleyball team wins Maple River Showcase

The Sibley East varsity girls volleyball team captured top honors in the Maple River Showcase on Saturday, Sept. 14.


Prior to that, Sibley East dropped a pair of matches last week.
The Lady Wolverines will travel to Belle Plaine at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. Sibley East will host its annual tournament in Arlington on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Lady Wolverines will travel to St. Peter at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.

Maple River Showcase
The Sibley East varsity girls volleyball team captured first place honors in the Maple River Showcase on Saturday, Sept. 14.

SE cross country teams run in NYA Invite

The Sibley East boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Norwood Young America Invite at Baylor Park  on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10.
Sibley East will compete in a meet at Glencoe-Silver Lake on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19. Sibley East will also compete in a meet at New Prague on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 24.

Boys Team
The Sibley East varsity boys cross country team placed 10th among 15 teams.
Senior Travis Andrews earned a ribbon after he placed ninth among 107 runners with a time of 17:26.

Girls Team
The Sibley East varsity girls cross country team placed 10th among 14 teams.
Junior Audrey Parrott earned a ribbon after she finished 32nd with a time of 23:05. Senior Isabelle Ballalatak also earned a ribbon after she placed 33rd with a showing of 23:07.

SE tennis team splits 2 meets in recent action

The Sibley East varsity girls tennis team split with a pair of opponents during the past week.


Sibley East was blanked by visiting Le Sueur-Henderson 7-0 in Minnesota River Conference action on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10.


The Wolverines then edged United South Central 4-3 in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 12.
The Lady Wolverines will travel to Belle Plaine in conference play on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19. Sibley East will travel to Southwest Christian in MRC action on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 24.
