The Sibley East varsity football team opened its season with a 41-0 loss to visiting St. Peter on Thursday night, Aug. 29.

A blocked punt and a long punt return led to St. Peter’s first two touchdowns in the opening quarter. The result was two quick touchdowns and a St. Peter 13-0 lead with 5:18 left in the first quarter.

Sibley East countered with a long drive which ended around the Saints 30-yard line after a couple penalties.
