Florence Dahl-Bigaouette, 95, Arlington

Florence Dahl-Bigaouette, age 95, of Arlington, passed away at the Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord on Tuesday, July 2.  
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6. Father Brian Lynch officiated.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the Mass at church on Saturday, July 6.  
Interment was in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Florence was born to Anthony and Catherine (Gruich) Artman in Allegheny County, Penn., on Sept. 8, 1923. She grew up in Pennsylvania where she graduated from high school, and  received additional education for teaching. She then taught at Miss Conley’s Business School.  
She married Vernie Dahl on Oct. 28, 1944.  They moved to Minnesota where Vernie was able to complete Veterinary School at the University of Minnesota. After Vernie’s schooling, they made their way to Arlington, and lived there for a little while.  From there they traveled across the country living in several different places.  Vernie died in 1978, and after his death Florence decided to move back to Arlington.  She later married Francis Bigaouette, Sr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington  on Aug. 26, 1994.
She was involved in her community, and was a member of various organizations some of which included the Legion Auxiliary and the Arlington Garden Club.  For 40 years she was a faithful volunteer to the American Red Cross blood services.   
Florence is survived by her son, Robert Dahl; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dahl and Suzanne (John) Benedict; great-grandchildren, Jack and Holly Benedict; step-children, Dennis Bigaouette, Betty Pederson, Mary Johnson, Sharon (Gary) Lauwagie, Francis (Wendy) Bigaouette, Jr., and Theresa (Joe) Young; and other relatives and friends.  
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Dr. Vernie Dahl in 1978, and Francis Bigaouette, Sr. in 2018.
