NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS: Quotes for gravel will be received until 8 p.m. April 24, 2019, by Maynard Rucks, Clerk of Jessenland Township, Sibley County on behalf of the Supervisors of said Township for the following: 2,500 yards of class 5 gravel more or less delivered to anyplace in the Township by July 1, 2019.
Township is also asking for quotes for road grading and weed cutting this season, snowplowing and sanding this next season.
Township reserves the right to reject any and all quotes.

Notice is hereby given, that the Open Book Meeting of the Board of Appeal and Equalization for Arlington City shall meet on Thursday, April 25th, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sibley County Asssessor’s Office. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made. Please make an appointment by calling the Sibley County Assessor’s Office at 507-237-4078 or e-mail Assessor1@co.sibley.mn.us.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact the assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with the assessor, you may appear before the board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before the local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the county board of appeal and equalization.

The Arlington Planning & Zoning Committee will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 7:05 p.m. or as soon thereafter, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 204 Shamrock Drive to consider the following matter that requires a public hearing.

To review and consider an application for a variance to the interior side yard setback in the R-1 Single Family Residential District. The variance would allow for an addition to an existing attached garage at 704 Marion Drive. The required interior side yard setback is eight (8) feet. The meeting was called to order at 5:30p.m. Members: Brian Brandt, Laura Reid, Missy Weber, Sarah Ziegler, Avery Grochow, and  Jon Hazelwood were present.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:  Motion by member Reid, seconded by Member Hazelwood, to approve the agenda.  The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
VISITOR COMMENTS: None
CONSENT AGENDA: Approval of Minutes-Recommend approval of Regular February 19, 2019, Board Meeting Minutes. Approve February 28, 2019, Special Board Meeting Minutes Personnel: Hiring: Assistant Track - Megan Bullert ($1625.00-  ½ of Step 1) Assistant Track Andrew Thies (Step 1: $3250.00), 7th Grade Baseball - Eli Somers (Step 1: $2490) Resignation- Carol Fisher, Food Service, Effective June 30, 2019. Volunteer Coach Approval: Kevin Effertz-Trap, Jonathan Harbarth-Trap, Terry Deno- Trap, Keith Stearns-Trap, Clint Wibstad-Trap, Greg DeVries-Trap, Curtis Redman-Trap, Nicholas Borgmann-Trap, Kenneth Mueller-Trap, Alex Reichenbach-Baseball. Transportation report- Board update on recently completed Minnesota Department of Transportation annual school bus inspections completed in February 2019.
First Reading of Policy 613 Graduation Requirements
Policy 905 School Facility Use and Rental Policy addition of Fitness Center Pass for 18+ College Student-$60.00. Motion by Member Grochow, second by Member Reid to approve update to include a Fitness Center Pass for 18+ College Student in the amount of $60.00.  The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
Consideration of further adjustments to the 2018-2019 School Calendar. Motion by Member Hazelwood, second by Member Ziegler, to maintain the school calendar as approved at the February Regular Board Meeting. The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
Discuss/Approve a plan to address teacher contract days for Sibley East teaching staff. Motion by Member Grochow, second by Member Weber. As a result of extreme weather conditions during the winter of 2019 to approve the draft plan for teaching staff days as written. The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
Bills and Payments: Recommend approval of March 2019 bills totaling: $1,191,487.73. Motion by Member Ziegler second by Member Reid to approve March 2019 bills and payments totaling $1,191,487.73. The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
Accept donations: $1,000.00, Gaylord Fire Department Relief Assn-Trap, $3,000.00, Community Giving-Seeman Scholarship, $1500.00, State Farm Companies Foundation-Track, $350.00, Gaylord Game Protective- Jr. High Boy’s Basketball,  Motion by Member Weber, second by Member Hazelwood to accept the above donations with gratitude.  The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
PRINCIPAL and SUPERINTENDENT REPORTS: Principals submitted written reports to the Board. Superintendent Amsden updated the Board on identifying a date for a Special Board Meeting to address the Old Business pending related to MS/HS floor finishing. Meeting set for April 9th, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Next Regular School Board Meeting is scheduled for April 15, 2019 @ 6:30 PM, Arlington Campus-Media Center .    
Special School Board Meeting, April 9th, 2019 @5:00 p.m., for the purpose of continuing discussion related to floors at the Middle/High School.             
ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Member Reid, second by Member Grochow, to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved by unanimous vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:44 p.m.

MS/HS CONCRETE FLOORS AND FLOOR GRINDING

TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2019 @ 5:00 P.M.

 The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. Members: Brian Brandt, Missy Weber, Sarah Ziegler, Avery Grochow, Jon Hazelwood were present. Laura Reid was absent.
Member Weber moved, second by Member Grochow, to approve the agenda.  The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
VISITOR/GUEST COMMENTS: Tim Haggenmiller, Arlington, Mn addressed the Board on the subject of finished floors and concrete work at the MS/HS site in Arlington.
OLD/UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Review of remedies and contracts- District Counsel, Anthony Nerud, Preston Euerle, RA Morton, Jim Wilson, Wendel Architects & Engineers.
Discussion/Action on options to; 1) continue to remediate identified issues with ramp area of hall 1020 and entire area of hall 1060, 2) accept proposed credit from Evenson Concrete Systems, Inc.
Motion by Member Weber, second by Member Grochow to continue work on floor grinding of hallway 1060, hold on ramp corrections on hallway 1020 until the completion of hallway 1060, and direct Wendel Architects & Engineers to develop renderings of possible ramp staining options. The motion was approved by unanimous vote.
Preston Euerle, RA Morton, updated the Board on the progress/completion of punch list and warranty items at the MS/HS site in Arlington.
NEW BUSINESS: None
INFORMATIONAL: Next Regular Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, April 15th, 6:30 p.m., MS/HS Media Center.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Member Grochow, second by Member Weber, to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved by unanimous vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
