Mark Griffith, Regional Director at South Central MN EMS presented to the Sibley County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday morning Sept. 24. South Central EMS is governed by a joint powers board consisting of the nine counties in the region.  County Commissioner Bill Pinske sits on the EMS joint powers board.

According to Griffith, they provide low and no-cost continuing education, operational support, and medical direction to over 85 EMS, fire, and law enforcement agencies in the nine counties.  They also provide staff and resources to inform the public of safety hazards that can affect everyone, specifically seat-belt awareness, distracted driving, and the ophioid epidemic.

Griffith said Gaylord and Winthrop have been keeping them busy.  He also said they have worked with the Green Isle Fire Department on a rehab project.
