The visiting Sibley East varsity football team surrendered a 13-point halftime lead and lost to Belle Plaine 36-21 on Friday night, Sept. 20.

The Wolverines looked to have taken an early lead when senior Lincoln Carpenter  caught a punt and raced 50-plus yards for a touchdown. A penalty, however, negated the score.

Sibley East rebounded moments later when junior quarterback Caleb Dose ran 42 yards for a touchdown. Sophomore Zach Pazdernik booted the extra point kick as the Wolverines raced to a 7-0 lead with 4:42 left in the first quarter.
