SE boys and girls track teams both place 3rd at Giant Relays

The Sibley East varsity boys and girls track teams placed third in the Giant Relays at Le Sueur-Henderson on Thursday afternoon, May 9.

Girls Team
Minnesota Valley Lutheran took top honors with 179.5 team points while Tri-City United placed second with 135.5 team points. Sibley East placed third with 102 team points. Norwood Young America (92), Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (91), Le Sueur-Henderson (87), G-F-W (59), Sleepy Eye Unified (50) and Holy Family Catholic (7) rounded out the field.
First place winners for the Lady Wolverines included Lily Beneke (shot put) and 4 X 800 meter relay team (Jacquelyn Wibstad, Kaitlyn Scherer, Isabelle Ballalatak and Audrey Parrott).

Boys Team
Le Sueur-Henderson captured top honors with 168 team points while Minnesota Valley Lutheran placed second with 155 team points. Sibley East placed third with 141 team points. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (120), Tri-City United (110), G-F-W (35), Sleepy Eye Unified (30), Norwood Young America (25) and Holy Family (18) rounded out the field.
The 4 X 800 meter relay team was the lone Sibley East first place winner. The foursome included Jens Lundstrom, Micah Scherer, Jose Nevarez and Travis Andrews.
