Fatalities after cycle collides with trailer

A South Dakota couple was killed after their motorcycle collided with an unattached trailer on Highway 19 in Arlington Township at 4:06 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 1, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.


Marvin D. Fandrich, 60,  and Kathy L. Fandrich, 61, both of Aberdeen, S.D., were on a 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited heading eastbound on Highway 19, according to the report. A 1977 International Tractor 1086 with a farm trailer, driven by Curtis M. Petzel, 60, Arlington, was heading westbound on Highway 19. The trailer separated from the tractor and traveled into the eastbound lane where the motorcycle collided with it. The farm trailer and the motorcycle entered the eastbound ditch.
